Argo St George combines Daniel Geoghegan’s multi-sector venture capital background and Guy Burnell’s experience in growing and exiting businesses and specialises in working with entrepreneurs to grow their businesses. It advises on corporate transactions, often taking on a continuing role though the provision of non-executive directors or its professional services.
In 2011 Argo St George has completed a number of transactions including:

- venture capital financing for a high growth renewable energy installer
- Enterprise Investment Scheme application and investment
- senior loan facility for an East European property company
As part of ongoing business development mandates, it maintains several non-executive directorships with client businesses enabling it to contribute to enterprise growth, value enhancement and corporate strategy.
Background
Leveraging Daniel Geoghegan’s experience in venture capital and David Peill’s background as a Chartered Surveyor advising on debt and equity, Argo St George was founded in 2005 and initially undertook corporate finance work for real estate businesses where it was also an investor. Argo St George quickly established itself as a leading fund manager and fund raiser for the Republic of Georgia, raising a substantial portion of the country’s foreign direct investment in 2006 and 2007, and established investments in Switzerland and the UK.
In 2008 Argo St George co-founded Heracles LLP, a UK based property and fund management partnership. Heracles offered syndicated buying opportunities to high net worth individuals and then in 2009 created its first fund, Heracles Fund I LLP. Since 2010 Argo St George Partner David Peill has been increasingly committed to co-managing Heracles as the Joint Managing Partner, whilst Argo St George continues its a multi-sector advisory and finance business, working with SME‘s, enabling them to grow to their full potential.
